Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical & Allied Health Professionals INSTRUCTOR Certification

This accredited eight-hour course identifies methods and techniques to teach the corresponding certification course. Instructor candidates enhance their knowledge base with regard to addiction and nicotine products. The train-the-trainer curriculum contains instructor notes and teaching tools along with suggested instructional delivery techniques specific to teaching the Basic Skills certification course within diverse communities.  The intent of the train-the-trainer model is to promote system wide evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment as a standard of care. Certification candidates learn the logistics necessary to plan, promote and teach the course.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals course.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Native Communities INSTRUCTOR Certification

Instructor candidates attend this eight-hour course to learn/practice the methods and techniques to teach the corresponding Native Communities course. They practice teach the culturally adapted curricula.  Train-the-trainer curriculum contains instructor notes and teaching tools along with suggested instructional delivery techniques specific to Native peoples and commercial tobacco. The intent of the train-the-trainer model is to promote system wide evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment as a standard of care. Certification candidates learn the logistics necessary to plan, promote and teach the course.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Native Communities course.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Maternal & Child Health INSTRUCTOR Certification

This accredited eight-hour course presents the methods and techniques to teach the corresponding certification workshop. Participants practice teach a portion of the Maternal and Child Health course. Train-the-trainer curriculum contains instructor notes and teaching tools along with suggested instructional delivery techniques specific to Women’s Health. The intent of the train-the-trainer model is to promote system wide evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment as a standard of care. Certification candidates learn the logistics necessary to plan, promote and teach the course.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Maternal and Child Health course.
